Skin Health
Skin texture, tone, and firmness change with age due to sun damage, collagen loss, and slower cell turnover. The Falcone Center offers four categories of skin rejuvenation treatment, each working through a different mechanism. Dr. Falcone will recommend one or a combination based on whether your primary concern is texture, pigmentation, laxity, or all three.

Which Category Addresses Your Concern
| Concern | Best-Suited Treatment |
|---|---|
| Sun damage, fine lines, overall texture | CO2 / Fractional Laser Resurfacing |
| Brown spots, redness, uneven pigmentation | IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) |
| Glow with zero downtime | PRX Derm Perfexion |
| Deeper resurfacing, acne scars | Chemical Peels |
| Skin tightening + collagen stimulation | Potenza RF Microneedling |
| Mild lift without surgery | PDO Threads |
Laser Resurfacing
CO2 and fractional laser resurfacing work by creating controlled, microscopic injury to the skin that triggers collagen remodeling, effective for fine lines, sun damage, and overall texture, though it comes with several days of redness and a crusted appearance that can last 10 days or more. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a gentler, no-downtime option specifically for brown spots and redness rather than texture or fine lines.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin to reveal fresher skin underneath, with depth and downtime varying by peel strength. Dr. Falcone will match peel depth to your skin type and goals at consultation.
PRX Derm Perfexion: The No-Downtime Alternative
For patients who want peel- or laser-level glow without the peeling, redness, or downtime, PRX Derm Perfexion uses a biorevitalizing combination (TCA, hydrogen peroxide, and kojic acid) that stimulates collagen and improves texture while leaving the surface skin intact. Most patients see immediate radiance and can apply makeup within a couple of hours. A series of 4 treatments spaced one week apart is typical for best results, and it pairs well as a prep step before microneedling or laser treatments, or as a maintenance treatment between them.
Potenza RF Microneedling
Potenza combines fine needles with radiofrequency energy delivered directly into the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production for firmer, more even-toned skin. It’s customizable by depth and intensity, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types and concerns, and is often positioned as a less invasive alternative to surgery or aggressive laser resurfacing.
PDO Threads
PDO (polydioxanone) threads are inserted beneath the skin to provide an immediate subtle lift while stimulating collagen production over time as the threads dissolve, a middle-ground option between injectables and a surgical lift.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a chemical peel and PRX Derm Perfexion?
Both improve skin texture and stimulate collagen, but chemical peels remove the outer skin layer and involve visible peeling and downtime, while PRX leaves the surface skin intact with no downtime or photosensitivity.
How much downtime does laser resurfacing require?
CO2 and fractional laser resurfacing typically involve redness, swelling, and a crusted appearance that can last 10 days or more. IPL and PRX have little to no downtime.
Can these treatments be combined?
Yes, Dr. Falcone frequently combines treatments (for example, PRX before microneedling to prep the skin, or IPL alongside a chemical peel) as part of an individualized plan.
What does Potenza treat that lasers don’t?
Potenza’s radiofrequency energy penetrates deeper into the skin than most surface lasers, making it especially effective for firmness and skin tightening in addition to texture.
